Left ventricular global function index and peculiarities of daily blood pressure profile in patients with arterial hypertension

چکیده
BACKGROUND: The left ventricular global function index (LVGFI), determined using transthoracic echocardiography, is a simple clinical marker of dysfunction and has superior prognostic value to the standard ejection fraction-based assessment cardiac pump function. methodology for calculating this was proposed in 2019. Currently, factors that influence state functions are not examined.
AIM: This study aimed assess association LVGFI with peculiarities daily blood pressure (BP) profile patients arterial hypertension (AH).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total 104 [51 men (49%) 53 (51%) women] AH were examined. mean age 58.711.73 years, disease duration 6.0310.93 years. corresponded grades 1, 2, 3 47 (45.2%), 26 (25.0%), 31 (29.8%) patients, respectively. Patients myocardial infarction or stroke, cardiomyopathies, heart defects, diabetes mellitus, thyroid dysfunction, chronic kidney included study. All underwent BP monitoring, carotid artery examination, biochemical tests.
RESULTS: significant inverse weak correlation (r=0.215, p=0.028), body mass (r=0.378, p=0.001), variability (r=0.307, p=0.002), values systolic (r=0.223, p=0.026) diastolic (r=0.237, p=0.018) observed. In regression analysis, an increase index, abnormal diurnal excessive reduction at night, high demonstrated independent decreased LVGFI.
CONCLUSIONS: revealed increased variability. These should be considered possible development strategy prevent target organ damage AH.

متن کاملArterial pressure, left ventricular mass, and aldosterone in essential hypertension.
The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the relationship of aldosterone to blood pressure and left ventricular size in black American (n=109) and white French Canadian (n=73) patients with essential hypertension. Measurements were obtained with patients off antihypertensive medications and included 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, plasma renin activity and aldosterone, and an echocar...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the role of right heart catheterization in the diagnosis of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). METHODS We evaluated clinical, functional, and hemodynamic data from all patients who underwent right heart catheterization because of diagnostic suspicion of PAH--in the absence of severe left ventricular dysfunction (LVD), significant changes in pulmonary function tests, ...
متن کاملNocturnal Blood Pressure Pattern Affects Left Ventricular Remodeling and Late Gadolinium Enhancement in Patients with Hypertension and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy
BACKGROUND Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is an independent predictor of cardiac mortality, regardless of its etiology. Previous studies have shown that high nocturnal blood pressure (BP) affects LV geometry in hypertensive patients. It has been suggested that continuous pressure overload affects the development of LVH, but it is unknown whether persistent pressure influences myocardial fib...
متن کاملEffects of antihypertensive therapy on blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with severe hypertension.
The mechanisms responsible for regression of left ventricular (LV) mass with antihypertensive therapy in patients with severe hypertension remain unclear. This study was designed to examine whether systolic and diastolic blood pressures are associated with changes in LV mass. Eighteen patients with essential hypertension whose average seated diastolic blood pressure was >or = 110 mm Hg were enr...
